Unhelpful Graphite Tip #5 - Solid State Drives

Artur Bergman (@crucially) kindly recommends:
Editor's Note: Seriously though, you really should move your Whisper files over to SSD if you haven't already. The IO gain is tremendous and allows you to spend your time being more creative with process distribution across CPU cores (hint: future article).

Whenever I see such a recommendation I remember the following article: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2011/05/the-hot-crazy-solid-state-drive-scale.html
I'm not saying you should avoid SSD altogether because of what it says, but keep this in mind and backup your data.

Using flashcache. But still, the IO is not what I expected it to be. Do you have in hand any tweaks around this ?

Hi there,
First of all, thank you very much for all the great content. I hope you can post about distribution across CPU cores soon. ;)
I'm using graphite for 6 months and now I'm facing a strange issue, my graphite stops to count events at given number of metrics and I dunno what I did, anyway if you have any tip I would be very grate with you. thanks.
